POEM: A Thought

I haven't posted my poems in a long time. I have written a few but did not post. Decided to post the one I wrote today in response to my own challenge to my writing group! I took this photo in Yellowstone National Park in 2016 and it seems somehow symbolic of my creative slumber.

A Thought

Have I lost my sense of struggle,
I wonder, as there seems
So little I can effect.  It seems
Possible one can have so much
Acceptance it starts to feel like lazy.
I find myself silent when I could argue,
Thinking nothing I say will make
A difference anyway.  I know I do
Still care about injustice,
Unfairness, misfortune, pain.
But I feel mostly powerless and
My sense of struggle slumbers.
